Diversity is Not a Strength

Diversity is strength! There is no truth in this statement.

It is something that is said when there is a majority group and a minority group in any place. It is said to convince the majority to treat the minority well—which is good because that's how it should be.

Just because a group is a minority, the majority should not oppress them, or treat them badly. Saying diversity is a strength is a persuasion to that end.

(I'm refraining from using the word brainwashing because when brainwashing is done for good purposes, it's called persuasion.)

Diversity is a strength. You say that to the majority so they feel positive about the existence of a minority, and then there is harmony and friendliness and no conflict and they live together.

But then there are unshakable natural forces to deal with.

Whenever there is diversity, there is going to be friction because the cultures are different, the habits are different, and ideas are different, the politics would be different. So there is certainly going to be friction.

We say diversity is good, to minimize the friction, but when the minority keeps increasing in numbers or power, the friction continues to increase too.

When the friction keeps increasing and you keep thumping this message, diversity is good, diversity is strength,… the majority, just by virtue of being a majority, would come under fire. The establishment would sympathize with the minority, and the majority at some point will start getting demonized.

When the minority further increases in numbers or power, the friction, and the conflict will reach an extent where there will have to be a revolution, and the recognition of the fact that “diversity is strength” is a hollow statement, completely devoid of truth.

And then the natural order would force itself.

Has that happened? I don't know, I'm not that good with history. But that seems to be how the natural progression of society would be because one thing I'm sure about is when there is diversity, there's going to be conflict.

Diversity is not a strength; beyond a point, it’s a fatal weakness.

Note that in the initial phase, it's a good thing to say that diversity is a strength. I'm not saying there should not be minority rights or minorities should not be treated well.

But nature stands between how we think things should be and how things are.

When you live in this utopia you want to keep forcing how you think the world should be, but nature does not give in. So either you will turn mentally ill because you will never fathom why things are not happening the way you think they should, or there has to be an awakening.

Let this post be one of awakening.

Note: Diversity of ideas within a group of people is essential for human development, and is unambiguously the thing to strive for and preserve. Diversity of race, culture, and religion, beyond a point, is not. Since this post is for dummies, thought I should clarify this.
