Signs We Live in a Simulation, #1

This series of posts reflects my observations that suggest we are living inside a computer simulation. I'll continue adding to it as I come across new signs that further reinforce this idea.

The Speed of Light

If we were to design a highly sophisticated simulation, we would likely prevent the inhabitants of that simulation from discovering what exists outside of it.

The boundaries of the simulation would be carefully constructed, ensuring that those within cannot break through or uncover its true nature.

Look at our video games. Do the characters in our video games know they are in a video game? They don’t, and they can’t.

The characters within the video games are unaware that they are part of a game. They cannot perceive the world outside of their programmed reality, nor can they escape it.

Their limitations are built into the fabric of the game itself, keeping them confined to their universe.

Similarly, if our own world was a simulation, it seems reasonable to assume that there would be mechanisms in place to prevent us from exploring beyond its limits.

Talk about the speed of light. A fundamental constant in our universe that represents the maximum speed at which information or matter can travel.

According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, nothing can exceed the speed of light, which is approximately 299,792 kilometers per second (or about 186,282 miles per second).

Interestingly, the universe itself is expanding at the speed of light, or faster than the speed of light.

Based on observations of distant galaxies, we know that space is stretching, with regions of the universe moving away from us at speeds greater than that of light!

This means that parts of the universe are moving away from us faster than we could ever reach, even if we were to develop technology capable of traveling at the speed of light.

Essentially, the observable universe is limited by the speed of light, creating a horizon beyond which we cannot see or explore.

I take this as one of the signs that we live in a simulation.
