Parents owe their kids everything—they chose to bring them into this world. Kids owe nothing in return; they didn’t ask to be born
That said, if you don’t take care of your parents in their old age, you’re a loser
I’ll never expect my kids to care for me, but I’ll care for my mother—and I’ll hold other men to that standard. Both beliefs can coexist
